About the Picture Slideshow/Slide Show:
        The war that killed nearly 2-4 million vitanamese. Vietnam was divided into North and South Vietnam in 1954. The communist government of Ho Chi Minh controlled North Vietnam, and a non-communist government controlled South Vietnam. North Vietnam fought to unit the two portions in to one nation.

The Vietnam War or Second Indochina War: South Vietnam was backed by US and north was backed by Russia and China. The US involved directly in the battle field. The war lasted for more than 15 years. After the US involvement got reduced the powerful PAVN attacked and took control of South Vietnam. This war is widely considered as USA's first defeat.

North Vietnam united both North and South Vietnam and formed the Socialist Republic of Vietnam on 2nd July 1976.
Saigon was renamed after our famous president as Ho Chi Minh City.
