        Pervez Musharraf is the President of Pakistan, the Chief of Army Staff of the Pakistan Army and the fourth military dictator to govern the country in wake of a coup.Musharraf was Chief of Army Staff at the time of Mujahideen incursions into India from Pakistan-administered Kashmir in the summer of 1999. Although Pakistan claimed that these were Kashmiri freedom fighters, later developments showed that they were Pakistani paramilitary soldiers backing up the separatists on the mountain top.
